Lonicera periclymenum 'Serotina', 'Late Dutch Honeysuckle'
A new (to us) must have honeysuckle, in fact the bees knees of honeysuckles, one we have grown from seed we imported some years ago. At last it's in sufficient quantities to list. It has delectable, even intoxicating, fragrance, sumptuous 4cm tubular flowers of deep pink with a touch of purple, the tips curl back to reveal a creamy satin interior which fades to a soft gold. – giving it a multi coloured display. A mature plant has a profusion of flowers in early summer with some produced through to mid autumn. A compact slow growing non-invasive deciduous honeysuckle, it's easy and adaptable from sun to shade. It flowers best in a lightly shaded spot. Grow this spectacular honeysuckle on a fence so others can enjoy it too! 2m h X 3m w
