Trachystemon orientalis (Abraham-Isaac-Jacob)

Colour: blues

Spikes of small deep blue star shaped flowers with reflexed petals in spring delight the bees. Wonderful large crisply wrinkled bright green leaves form a dense weed smothering ground cover. While it prefers moist woodland conditions it also performs well in dry shade. I have successfully planted it in a variety of places in the garden, it’s a plant I would definitely classify as a survivor, cut back the old leaves and new ones quickly emerge. Rare and an extremely useful ground cover. 25cm h x 50cm w.
